Saudi Arabian Sambusa Recipe

Saudi Arabian Sambusa Recipe is a delicacy in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The cooking recipe is more popularly prepared during the Holy fasting month of Ramadan, wherein sambusa is eaten for Iftar, to break the fast 

Serving Size: 10-15
Preparation Time: 20 minutes

Ingredients: 

For Filling: 

•1 Cup Boneless Meat
•1 cup Onions
•1cup Green Onions
•1 Cup Coriander/Parsley Leaves
•⅟₁₆ Cup Turmeric Powder
•⅟₁₆ Cup Black Pepper Powder
•Salt to Taste
•Oil

For Dough: 

•1 Cup All-Purpose Flour
•Salt to taste
•¼ Cup Oil
•Water (as much required to make a dough)

Preparation :


  1. Heat oil in a pan; put the meat until the water content evaporates. To this, add onions and sauté for about 1-2 minutes. 
  2. Add turmeric powder, salt to taste and black pepper powder and slow cook about 
  3. 1-2 minutes. Once done, turn off the flame. 
  4. To the ready mixture, add green onions and parsley. Mix it well and keep it aside for filling. 
  5. For the sambusa sheet, knead flour, oil, and water. Keep the dough aside to rest for about 15-20 minutes before use. 
  6. Take the dough, and roll it out flat. With the help of a cup or circular object cut circles. 
  7. Stuff this circular rolled base, and press the edges to firmly secure the filling. Make similar sambusa with the remaining filling and dough. 
  8. Deep fry or bake them until golden brown. 
  9. Serve it with ketchup or simply with hot beverages such as tea.
